Friendswood is about 11 miles south of our base, between Pearland and League City. Fences are on the city's permit list, and its zoning code is unusual about front yards: most lots can't have a front fence at all.
Front-yard fences are only allowed on lots over 2 acres or along parts of FM 528, FM 2351 and FM 518, and a transparent decorative fence is allowed on lots over 2 acres or with 150 feet of frontage. Chain link and barbed wire are prohibited in residential front yards, and the finished side must face out.
Do you need a fence permit in Friendswood?
Yes. Fences are on the City of Friendswood's list of work that needs a permit.
