A gate motor means you open the driveway from the car, in the rain, without getting out. It only works well when the gate does, so we start with the gate itself: it has to swing or slide freely, hang level and close without forcing. A motor pushing a sagging gate burns out early.
Because Muniz Fence builds and welds gates, we can fix the gate and install the motor in the same job: reinforce the frame, reset a post, add the brackets the opener needs. That is the difference between calling a gate company and calling a welder, and here you get both.
Swing gates use an arm on the hinge post; sliding gates use an operator on a pad beside the driveway. Either one can open with remotes, a keypad, a phone app or an intercom, and should have safety sensors so the gate stops and reverses if a car or a child is in the way.
For a new opener, the electrical side matters too: the 120-volt circuit is a licensed electrician's job with a City of Houston permit, while the sensors and keypad run on low voltage. Where there is no power near the gate, a solar opener is the simpler route.
